Microsoft Office is a comprehensive software package for common business tasks, including word processing, e-mail, presentations, data management and analysis, forms management, and much more.

The Microsoft Office 2003 Professional suite starts with the same package as Office Standard: Microsoft Word, a full-featured word processor; Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program; Microsoft PowerPoint, a presentation program; and Microsoft Outlook, a mail and personal information manager.

Office Professional adds three programs: Microsoft Publisher, to create documents for print and Web; Microsoft Access, a database program; and Microsoft InfoPath, to manage forms-based data.

Built on shared technologies, with particular emphasis on consistency in function and style, the Office programs also take great advantage of the new communication and collaboration tools – including support for Extensible Markup Language (XML).

The installation media for the English/Multilanguage version include CD-ROMs for the basic English-language installation and additional CD-ROMs that can be used to install one or more additional language interfaces. The additional CD-ROMs are called a MUI pack.

Installing this product requires a licence key and installation media. Within 14 days of placing your order, instructions for obtaining the licence key will be sent to your organisation's registered e-mail address and free installation media will be delivered to your organisation's registered address.

Features:

Under the Software Assurance Programme, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.

Word contains familiar document and connectivity features — text and page formatting, multiple views, editing tools, printing and save options, graphics, and document control — and adds increased emphasis on shared markup capabilities, rights management, and interactivity with other programs.

Excel allows users to enter, import, analyze and track data and to use the data to generate charts and graphs, create preformatted templates — even output the data to the Web.

Powerpoint allows users to create slide-show presentations with text, graphics, and multimedia elements. Users can run the presentation live, publish it on the Web, or create a CD with a built-in viewer program.

Outlook provides a single, integrated solution for organizing and managing digital communication tools such as email and instant messaging, along with all day-to-day information such as calendars, contacts, task lists, and notes. Outlook’s work-sharing and coordinating features can give an office a new level of teamwork productivity.

Publisher is a comprehensive solution for creating and publishing a wide variety of publications for desktop printing, commercial printing, email distribution, or viewing on the Web.

Access provides a solid set of data manipulation and retrieval tools. Users can work with a variety of data formats and sources, including spreadsheets, Web links, and SQL servers.

InfoPath enables the creation of dynamic forms that teams and organizations can use to gather, share, reuse, and manage information. InfoPath’s server-based deployment, extensible architecture, and rich collection of ready-to-use forms and components get users started quickly developing their own sophisticated form solutions.
